Pursued a passion for shoemaking since 9th grade, honing skills through international learning in India, internships in NYC, independent projects, a full scholarship at CCS, and contributing to fashion shows with bespoke footwear designs. More details below.
Objective: To master the craft of shoemaking through global education, internships, and practical experience, culminating in the creation of bespoke footwear for various applications, including fashion shows.
Process:
• Early Interest: Developed a passion for shoemaking in 9th grade, leading to further exploration and education.
• International Learning: Traveled to India to learn directly from local cobblers and gained insight into the leather and manufacturing industries.
• Professional Internships: Completed internships at Brooklyn Shoespace and Michael Gray Footwear in NYC during 10th grade, deepening practical skills and industry knowledge.
• Independent Crafting: Continued to create shoes and other leather goods independently, refining techniques and expanding a personal portfolio.
• Academic Achievement: Attended the College for Creative Studies (CCS), where I honed my craft and earned a full scholarship based on my shoemaking skills.
• Fashion Industry Contribution: Contributed to my sister’s fashion shows by designing and crafting bespoke shoes, integrating my work into the broader fashion industry.
